Mark Molchan<\/b>\u00a0is an illustrator based out of Portland, OR.<\/p>\n
Inspired by the comic book artists and illustrators of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, he has produced gallery work, murals, illustrations, portraits, and landscapes.<\/p>\n
Mark is currently working with Dark Horse Comics to create covers for James Cameron’s Avatar series.<\/p>\n
He has been published in Spectrum Fantastic Art<\/i>\u00a0annual and the\u00a0Infected by Art<\/i> annual, where his work won Bronze in the digital category,\u00a0 5th and Honorable Mention in Grand Prize Winner, and graced the cover of IBA<\/em> #8.<\/p>\n He also created artwork for the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Tomb Raider Reborn\u00a0<\/b>IP\u2019s for the official\u00a0Bethesda<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Square Enix<\/i>\u00a0stores, as well as working with Jon Schindehette for the\u00a0ArtOrder<\/a><\/b>\u00ae brand.<\/p>\n His graphite piece \u201cThe Return\u201d<\/i>\u00a0was nominated for a\u00a0Chesley Award<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in 2016.<\/p>\n Mark published “The Bear Inside” children’s book in 2016, and started developing his own IP “Snow Day” in<\/em> 2017 by releasing a line of Holiday cards, “The Snowman”\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0“Winter Whimsy”\u00a0<\/em>through ArtOrder<\/a><\/b>\u00ae Publishing.<\/p>\n Ongoing projects include scene and prop production for Nutcracker Vignettes (the drive-thru Nutcracker show) in Portland, in partnership with Classical Ballet Academy.
